Day 6

Today wasn't a "perfect" day in my dieting world....I didn't get in any exercise & I had made a few poor food choices...BUT I still managed to track everything and stay within my WW points limit.  I guess we'll see how these mess-ups effected my weight loss when I weigh in next Thursday.  I've got to quit punishing myself for my mistakes and move on and stick with it & stay focused on the end result.

We went over to a friend's house for dinner the other night.  Usually going to someone's house for dinner is a major obstacle when I'm trying to lose weight, but she was kind enough to fix something that wouldn't get me off track.  She fixed Chicken Enchilada soup.  The recipe can be found here.   You know you've found a true friend if they fix you healthy food when you're on a diet.......or maybe it's because they're looking forward to our shopping trip in NYC once I reach my goal weight!  It doesn't matter......having good friends to support you along the way makes a BIG difference.  (Thanks Becca!  Love ya!)

I made Crispy Southwest Chicken Wraps.  I modified the recipe a bit.  I used 2% Colby/jack cheese, light sour cream, and mixed a packet of taco seasoning into the rice, chicken, bean mixture instead of the spices it calls for on the recipe.  This recipe is also 7 WW points, but the rice is so filling--I could only eat 1/2 of one wrap.

This next part of today's blog entry doesn't have much to do with my diet......but then again if I REALLY think about it.....maybe it does????  After living in Florida for almost 6 years now, we STILL haven't found a church.  We've visited more churches than I can count on two hands, they are always either TOO contemporary or TOO traditional.......we haven't found an "in between" yet.  The church we keep returning to, however,  doesn't have the hymns, choir robes, pews, or traditional Sunday dress we are accustomed to.......in fact it is the polar opposite.  I have finally come to the conclusion that that doesn't matter......the music may be like a concert, everyone may be in blue jeans and flip flips, and it may be very "flashy" BUT the music is amazing, the preaching is wonderful, and the children's program is just........WOW!  All of the things we've been searching for in a church are about "us".......that doesn't matter......church isn't about "us" it's about HIM. While searching for Bible verses about the importance of going to church, I found a website that lists 13 reasons WHY you should go to church.  The conclusion of the lists states, "going to church while also doing our own personal bible study at home on a regular basis helps us to get confirmation of God's message and what He wants us to do with our lives."  Click here to view 13 reasons why you should attend church on a regular basis.

Attending church on a regular basis is another tool that will help me not only reach my weight loss goal, but also build a stronger relationship with Christ and also always remember.........Everything 4:13!
